Waterimp

December 24th, 2003

Just purchased a Waterimp in order to reduce the damaging effects of the hideously hard water we have in Buckingham. I will return home this christmas eve to deal with an airlock that is afflicting our upstairs hand basin. Maybe I should become a plumber…

Festive cheer in Southampton

December 22nd, 2003

Despite threatening not to update this site before Christmas, I just had to log the fact that I had a truly excellent weekend. Firstly, Southampton beat Portsmouth 3-0 which puts us fourth in the premiership!

Merry Christmas

December 19th, 2003

A merry Christmas to all our readers! I’m unlikely to post much on the site between now and New Year so apologies in advance. All’s well and back to our festive boozing…

Beagle 2, put down your landing gear

December 18th, 2003

A mere 7 days until beagle 2 touches down on the surface of Mars. Beagle 2 was developed by the Open University’s Colin Pillinger who was last seen doing burnouts on BBC’s Top Gear. If you can’t see the festive decorations on the homepage, REFRESH/RELOAD your browser.

Christmas grub

December 15th, 2003

Great to see everybody at the two Christmas meals we went to this weekend: Alex, Zoë, Amy and Dean for the fab Italian at ‘Al Tamborista’ in Stony Stratford and Chris, Mandy, Seamus, Emma, Nicola, Sarah and Paul for coming along to the Old Thatch in Adstock. December 9th, 2003

So it will come as no suprise that we can also create our own skins to personalise the complete look and feel of this fantastic piece […]

December 9th, 2003

Do we get a plumber because it’s a bathroom thing that uses water? Do we call out an electrician because the water’s heated and pumped using electricity? Or, […]

Beta testing Digital Guardian

December 8th, 2003

Because I’ve got an online account with Guardian Unlimited I can browse digital versions of The Guardian and Observer Digital Editions. Unlike the standard online versions of the papers this new facility allows the user to read the complete paper as bought in the shop, except online! There’s some clever technology being used that has […]

Dear catastrophe waitress (Belle and Sebastian)

December 5th, 2003

I’ve been listening to Belle and Sebastian since first seeing them play the theme from “Teachers” (The Boy with the Arab strap) at Glastonbury a few years back. I’ve not unearthed their back-catalogue yet but The Boy with the Arab strap ranks up there with my favourite albums. Their latest disc, “Dear Catastrophe Waitress” combines […]
