{"id":282,"date":"2003-06-25T13:56:22","date_gmt":"2003-06-25T13:56:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.guyweb.co.uk\/?p=282"},"modified":"2003-06-25T13:56:22","modified_gmt":"2003-06-25T13:56:22","slug":"jon-tickle-a-living-legend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/guycarberry.co.uk\/guyweb\/2003\/06\/25\/jon-tickle-a-living-legend\/","title":{"rendered":"Jon Tickle: A Living Legend"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>My God, Big Brother has got boring since the eviction of <a href=\"http:\/\/www.channel4.com\/bigbrother\/housemates\/housemate_news.jsp?id=3\">Fed<\/a> and <a href=\"http:\/\/www.channel4.com\/bigbrother\/housemates\/housemate_news.jsp?id=5\">Jon<\/a> last Friday. These two were the life blood of the show. Fed alleviated his boredom by antagonising his fellow housemates and muttering to himself &#8211; &#8220;Oh, the hilarity of it all&#8221; whilst (wearing his &#8216;camp-man&#8217; lycra suit) watching the others playing in the garden. His consistent failure to pass tasks was obviously getting to him despite his apparent lack of interest in doing them. His controversial opinions, whilst probably not shared by most, made for great TV.<\/p>\n<p>Jon, on the other hand was far less controversial. He was absolutely fascinating to watch and when not providing us with highly useful factual information (how to make a solar powered heater for the pool, how black holes work), he was amusing us with his terrible renditions of Hotel California and &#8216;creepy&#8217; dancing. Sometimes he&#8217;d throw something bizarre into the air (<a href=\"http:\/\/www.lovelysecx.com\/bigbro4\/today.htm#Jons%20not%20very%20astonishing%20and%20quite%20MATURE%20comment%20NOT%20outburst\">accusing Ray of mental abuse<\/a>, for instance) but everything he did, again made for great telly. The other housemates obviously feared his superior intellect and wit and consistently voted for him. However, the joke would appear to be on them now. With <a href=\"http:\/\/media.guardian.co.uk\/broadcast\/story\/0,7493,983580,00.html\">viewing ratings sliding<\/a> despite Channel four&#8217;s <a href=\"http:\/\/media.guardian.co.uk\/bigbrother\/story\/0,7521,983187,00.html\">attempts<\/a> to spice up the house, the remaining housemates look as if they might positively die of boredom.
