Further investigation reveals that the mortgage broker has lost our buyer’s mortgage application. It was agreed in principal but the idiots lost all the supporting documentation. This could potentially put us back four weeks. Still, not as bad as it was this morning. The people at the top of the chain are applying pressure as they understandably want to move. So we’re all walking on eggshells right now. On top of that, we have a problem with the property we want to buy: The archway between the kitchen and dining room needed planning permission. Guess what, nobody applied for it. I don’t really know how this affects us, but in order to get retrospective planning permission we need to get the council round. They’ll rip out all the plaster from the wall, give us permission and leave us to clear the sorry mess up. So, a thinking point there. Isn’t life fun?<\/p>\n
